Here is a list of several events taking place this Summer that will cure that nasty case of boredom and help you create some lasting memories together as a family.

Whaling Days

Location: Silverdale

Last weekend in July (27th-29th in 2018)

Admission: Free

Held in “old town” Silverdale, Whaling Days is a yearly event that attracts people from all over the state. This enjoyable, family-friendly festival includes everything from carnival rides and a parade to vendor booths and even a beer garden. The Whaling Days festival has many things for children of all ages to enjoy, as well as, plenty of adult fun for the parents.

Chief Seattle Days

Location: Suquamish

Dates: August 17th-19th

Admission: Free

Chief Seattle is one of the most famous Chiefs from the Suquamish Tribe. In honor of his memory, the Suquamish Tribe hosts Chief Seattle days each year on their property. The event is quite large and offers a mile long list of activities for the whole family. Enjoy canoe racing, a pow wow, a parade and a 5k Fun Run. Lots of vendors and activities will be available each day of the festival. End your day with one of the best salmon dinners you will ever eat in your life.

Kitsap County Stampede and Rodeo

Location: Kitsap County Fairgrounds

Dates: August 22nd-26th

Admission: $10 adults $7 children 6-12 5 and under free

** The fair runs special pricing days throughout the event. You may be able to go for as low as $1 per person depending on the day of attendance so plan ahead.**

The Kitsap County Stampede and Rodeo host a full line of entertainment for the family. In addition to the many different rodeo performances, the festival will feature live acts from comedians and jugglers, host carnival rides and kids entertainment areas, and have many different booths and vendors for visitors to enjoy. The Kitsap County Stampede and Rodeo is a yearly event that has continued to grow and is more than worth a spot on your calendar.

Blackberry Festival

Location: Bremerton Boardwalk

Date: September 1st -2nd

Admission: Free

The Blackberry Festival is fun for everyone in the family. The festival hosts a 5K Fun Run to launch the event and then has many different activities to keep the event lively. Sample all the many different blackberry goodies offered by vendors at the festival and make sure to participate in the blackberry pie eating contest. Many different children’s activities are available on both days, and there are also many entertainment venues for music over the course of the event.

Kitsap County Park Events

Various parks throughout the county host events throughout the summer months. Everything from arts and crafts fairs to movie nights in the park can be found in this area. Check local listings for exact dates and times for these locally sponsored events.
